Otaru / Sapporo / Wakkanai

We took the 5am shuttle bus to Haneda airport. From hotel to airport, it only takes about 15 minutes. We have taken 640am flight and reached New Chitose airport around 815am. Once we reached airport, we directly go to the foreigner information counter. We bought 5-days JR pass at 19500 Yen, as well as Furano Twinkle bus package (1000 Yen) and Biei Twinkle bus package (600 Yen) from there.

Without wasting our time, we took the train to Otaru. We spent about 1 hour+ in the train and reached Otaru around 11pm. Otaru is harbor city and famous of glassware. You can have a great experience in making your own glass in the workshop.

The Otaru Canal is about 10 mins walk from Otaru Station. You can choose to have a pleasant stroll along the canal, B-U-T not during summer. -_-'''

The fruits in Japan is very expensive, Otaru also the same. Look at the displayed price board. The cheapest honeydew will be 2500 Yen (around $39). Erm, and I only afford to buy a slice of honeydew at the price 100 Yen... :P

We had our lunch at one of the seafood restaurant. My friends choose to eat scallops and sea urchin, and my lunch was that slice of honeydew and another slice of watermelon. I don't really like seafood except crab. In fact I want to save money for my King crab dinner at the last night before fly back to Tokyo... =P

After late lunch, we took a train from Otaru to Sapporo. From Sapporo we travelled another 5 hours to Wakkanai. Btw we stopped a while at Sapporo for photo shooting. :P

It was a long long journey from Sapporo to Wakkanai. It was already 11pm when we reached hostel. Luckily it is only 2 mins walk from Wakkanai Station. Once you come out of hostel and turn left, you will see it. Tonight we slept on tatami (榻榻米). This is a different experience for us. When we reached Wakkanai, it was actually very cold and windy outside. Therefore it was actually quite confortable even though this hostel only provides small table fan. That night costs us 5000 Yen.
