Taiwan Day 7 - Taoyuan

20 April 2008

As usual, we woke up early to take breakfast before heading to Taoyuan International Airport. Restaurant was very crowded. Some people just reached hotel and busy in check-in procedure. Some people just like me, enjoyed the food before leaving Taiwan.

We reached airport at 8am. OSK and I walked around in airport since it was still early that time. I bought a Taiwan magazine in airport.

Our flight had been delayed another half hour due to technical issue.

At 1030pm, it’s time to say goodbye to Taiwan.

Taiwan Day 6 - Taipei

19 April 2008

After breakfast, we headed to Leofoo Village Theme Park. Finally we could play like a kid after 5 days’ sightseeing. =)

entrance of LeoFoo Village Theme Park

Definitely this theme park is not as big as any Disneyland in the world, but the building design in every theme area is very attractive and unique. Leofoo Village consists of 4 theme areas which are Wild West, South Pacific, Africa Safari, and Arabian kingdom.

First of all, we decided to stroll around the Africa Safari after considered of my mum and other aunties’ health condition. =P

Let’s say Hello to Macaw! He must be in bad mood that time. He ignored my greeting to him. This animal isn’t cute at all. -_-‘’’

Arrogant white tiger.

OSK and I played like kids in the theme park.

Next we took monkey-bicycle to round the monkey trail. Look, my mum was very frightened that time until forgot to look at the camera. Honestly when the monkey-bicycle moved out of the departure line, a chill ran down my spine. :”> I was just like cycling in the air. Scary experience.

Monkey Trail....

We also took steam train, Nairobi Express, to observe the living habit of herbivore.

We visited Arabian Kingdom. It’s such an incredible royal palace building.

We took a ride in wooden flying horse to enjoy the magnificent royal palace scenery.

South Pacific. We didn’t play much on heart-attacking games.

Not challenging at all.. =P

We had our lunch in one of Chinese restaurant inside the theme park.

Group picture before we left for next destination. Say goodbye to Leofoo!

Finally we are in Taipei 101 Tower! The World's tallest completed skyscraper! The building designed by C.Y.Lee and Partners.

Ground to highest architectural structure: 509.2 metres (1,670.60 ft)

Ground to roof: 449.2 m (1,473.75 ft).

Ground to highest occupied floor: 439.2 m (1,440.94 ft).

Fastest ascending elevator speed: 16.83 m/s (55.22 ft/s)

662 Metric ton steel pendulum serves as a tuned mass damper

The impressive scenery which can make you ‘wow!’. Taken when I was in the 89 floor of indoor observatory station.

There’s a mailing service in the 89 floor of 101 Tower. I sent out 2 postcards to myself and Kelvin respectively. At first I plan to send some postcards to my friends but I could not remember their mailing address at all. Sorry to my friends. Anyway I will note down your all’s addresses in my diary next time.

This is the second place I found my lovely magnets. It's damn hard to find a magnet in Taiwan.

Very luckily, that time 91 floor of outdoor observatory station was opened to public. I really can feel the power of wind. It is so strong like hurricane. Seems like can blow me away. Anyway I still able to take a picture in a very tidy and beautiful pose. =P

Elephant recommended us a famous biscuit shop named Vigor Bakery House. I bought a box of green bean cake because it's really delicious. =)

Next we headed to Shilin night market for food and good grabbing. hehe... There is various of foods are waiting for me. So tempting. Mum and I ordered a plate of Fried Oyster,大腸包小腸 and
愛玉冰. After that we walked around Shilin and shopped crazily because tomorrow we will heading back to Malaysia.

We had our dinner at 铁木真蒙古烤肉. It's a buffet-type dinner. It's all-you-can-eat dinner.

It's time for packing up and squeezing all our things in our luggages.Tonight we checked in to TaoYuan Hotel.

Taiwan Day 5 - TaiChung

18 April 2008

Today was windy day in Kaohsiung. Previously Kaohsiung is known as ‘Takao’ (打狗). It is the second largest city in Taiwan and is a major center for manufacturing and transportation.

First stop of the day was Sun Moon Lake (日月潭) which situated in Nantou. Driver stopped the bus and let us has chance to get closer to the lake. Sun Moon Lake is the home for Thao tribe (邵族), one of aboriginal tribes in Taiwan.

We met up a group of people whom were trying to video record their show. I have no idea who are they, but it’s still fun to see how they record their TV show.

Wen-Wu Temple.

I managed to get a Taiwan-island-shaped magnet here. In every country I have explored, normally I will buy magnet printed with the country name as a souvenir for myself and my friends. It’s extremely hard to find a magnet in Taiwan. Luckily today I have found ONE here. ^_^

We had our lunch at Ching Sheng restaurant which can view Sun Moon Lake thoroughly.

After lunch, we headed to 邵族 Cultural village.

We wore their traditional fashion and took a picture. It’s totally FREE of charge. You can simply use your own camera to take the pictures.

Tour proceeded to Peacock Garden. Only male peacock has brightly-colored blue and green feathers and a long tail that can spread out like a fan.

Here we came to Chi Lin Fong Hot Spa. This was my second time enjoying hot spring. Chi Lin Fong Hot Spa has 2 different hot spas, which are outdoor and indoor. It’s MUST to wear swimming costume in outdoor whereas you can naked when in indoor. I have tried the indoor-style when I was in Japan. Therefore this time I experienced outdoor hot spa. Outdoor hot spa is shared by men and women. It is divided into few pools such as 30 Degree Celsius pool, 44 Degree Celsius pool, cold pool, etc… another special place for you to boil your eggs using their hot water. The eggs are really taste delicious. =)

Next, we visited 逢甲夜市. Another night market to spend our money without hesitation.

Tonight we had our lunch at a unique restaurant named 伍角船板. This restaurant is exactly like its name. It looks like a ship.

Our dining table

Wash bowl in toilet

The dishes are delicious and special. Milk Mua Chi is my favorite.

Tonight we will stay at TaiChung Twin Star (双星酒店) Hotel and this is our room.

There is a shopping mall named “TaiChung Central”. Since the night is still young, we walked around 2 minutes to TaiChung Central. Again I bought a T-shirt (made in Taiwan) for Kelvin and some stainless steel boxes for my friends as souvenirs.
