Taiwan Day 4 - Kaohsiung

17 April 2008

It’s always a good habit to have a walk after breakfast. There is a pond right in front of Gold Coast Union hotel and you will see fishes swim in it. My mum and I played around with them. Once you draw 3 circles on the surface of water, those fishes will swim towards your hand and open their mouth.

Nearly forget to introduce our bus that bring us round Taiwan. Tada!

Double-decker tour bus.

On the journey moved to our destination, there was a fascinating scene which really attracts me. Pacific Ocean just right behind me! ^_^

Windy. Cold. Feel fresh.

Lunch time. This time I didn’t capture down all those dishes’ pictures because we were busy eating it. =P

Fo Guang Shan is situated in Dashu village of Kaohsiung city. Master Hsing Yun is the founder of Fo Guang Shan and makes it becomes the biggest Buddhist temple in Taiwan.

Great Buddha Land:

Buddhist Museum:

Five hundred Arhats Garden:

Vulture Peak:

Juicy pineapple which OSK found it outside Fo Guang Shan:

Next we headed to Hsuen Tien Shangti Temple. Hsuen Tien Shangti is also known as Supreme Emperor of Dark Heaven. He is the deity of children, butchers, and sailors.

Wishing machine. NT 10 to make a wish. It's interesting.

Kaohsiung is preparing for the World Games 2009 and so the Lotus pond-lake is now being renovated.

Gigantic statues of Dragon and Tiger Pagoda. It’s advisable if we enter from Dragon’s mouth and come out from Tiger’s mouth. Taiwanese believe that come out from tiger pagoda means get out of any danger.

Elephant brought us to Xin Jue Jiang shopping district (新掘江商區) for shopping.

We took a boat ride at Love River (爱河) after dinner.

Tonight we stayed at Gear Hotel (信宗酒店).
