Cambodia Trip Day 3: Phnom Penh

[9 October 2010]
We departed to Phnom Pehn by local travel bus. It's a long journey, estimated takes about 2 - 3 hours to reach there.

Our local tour guide fetched us up at the bus terminal. She was late and we thought we have to find our way to hotel. Fortunately after waited for 15 minutes, she was here.
This is our hotel room with attached toilet.

After checked in, we left our luggage and directly headed to Tuol Sleng Museum. Indeed this is not a cheerful place to be visited. This is actuallyTuol Svay Prey High School, which featuring life of prisoner. More detailed in HERE.

Next we headed to Independence monument. Independence Monument, or Vimean Ekareach – as it is referred to in Khmer, is a majestic structure that dominates Phnom Penh city centre. It Located in the centre of a roundabout at the intersection of boulevards such as the Sihanouk and the Norodom. Independence Monument is just few blocks from the key landmarks of the city.

Before dinner, we paid a visit to Casino. It was raining cat and dog outside, and we have to stay in Casino for an hour before heading for our dinner.

Unbelievable I can stay awake during the day trip after a long journey from Siem Reap to Phnom Pehn. I really need a rest for tomorrow's day trip to royal palace.
