Lee's Christmas Party

Lee invited us to his Christmas party. Her wife prepared us their hometown cooking. First time I have chance to try out Philippine cuisine. Normally we can find various kind of meat in Philippine cuisine, from chicken, pork to fish. Since now is Christmas season, they never forget to prepare us turkey meat as well. I admit that I'm not interested in Pasta at all, but I ate 2 plates of pasta that night! Why? Because it's really delicious!! I should give her wife a kiss because she prepared us a special dessert - sticky rice. She spent a lot of time and energy on it.

According to Lee, they have to sing us a song or play guitar when guest visit their house. This is to show that they are welcoming us to their house for dinner.

Dinner & Dance Night 2008

Company's annual dinner was held at Shangri-la Hotel, Sg. It is located at Orchard Road but not convenient to go by MRT. Therefore SW and I shared cab to attend dinner. This year's theme is "A Black & Gold Affair". Absolutely everyone has to wear in black and gold.

First time being served like a Queen. No need to take food myself. Waitress/waiter will always be there to serve you. =P Everyone deserves to have 2 glasses of wine or beer. Neither one I can drink, but I insisted to try wine and I gave another glass to my colleague. 2 Ferrero Rochers being given to each guest.

The ballroom is really really grand. 600 peoples gathered in this ballroom.

马拉松式聚会

I came back to Penang for 2 days, just to celebrate my birthday and meet up as many friends as possible. I really appreciate although we only can gather for few hours.

Thanks to Neo for treating me breakfast/lunch before I left office and caught a flight to Penang. Thanks to SWuay, Lee, Patrick, Mogana for the birthday wishes.

I reached Penang at 810pm (20 minutes earlier than expected). WCC fetched me from airport and both of us rushed to Joo’s house. My first gathering was held at Gurney Coffee Bean. Liew and her husband were waiting for us there and ST supposed to join us but she couldn’t make it. It was too bad because Liew only able to meet me for few minutes. Next time I should arrange to meet her up and chat whole night. =P Thanks to Liew for the star lantern. It is so beautiful. That night I really very happy and we laughed crazily in the car and in the Coffee Bean. WCC purposely flew to Penang, just to see me for 4 hours. Thank you so much. WCC gave me 2 pairs of ear rings as birthday present whereas LCC, E4 and Joo gave me a love-shaped necklace as birthday present. I know you all love me very much. :”> I shy~ I love those presents very much.

I have a gathering with my ex-colleagues. Really appreciate that you all come to meet me up at Starbucks. Joseph, Sharon, OSK , CF, PGTan and CMun gave me a cat-face pillow as birthday present. Meow~ Thank you so much. OSK gave me a turtle key chain and wish me "long long life". Careen also came to see me outside the Mizi restaurant and gave me a pair of flower ear rings. It’s so lovely. Thanks.

Sunday morning 9am, another gathering was held at 红茶馆 (opposite Sunshine Farlim). I so glad that you all still as funny as before. Glad to hear the good news from Shirley and Poon as well. Congratulation ya! =) I am happy you all are here to have a simple breakfast with me – Sfong, Sim, TSiew, Sophia, Shirley, Poon and Whan as well as a surprising call from Wee Hong. Thanks. Pig, you will leaving Penang soon. I will miss you again. We can only meet through webcam. =P

12pm Sora brought me to RedBox KTV. I didn’t visit this place for some times. I love to singing but I sore throat that day. -_-‘’’ Sora gave me a watch as present. It’s so gorgeous. I love it very much. Thanks for preparing me such surprising birthday in RedBox. I love the cake! I love the candles as well! so cute!

I met a long lost friend at Tea house. She is Siew Hooi. Last few weeks Chistine and I just talked about her. And I met her before I left Penang. =) Nice to see you again! Christine, I met SH already!! =P

This trip was really tiring but it’s sweet in my heart. Finally I am able to meet my friends up. Thanks to those who wrote me birthday wishes in Friendster/Facebook – Catherine, Linda, Goh, Albert, Mic, See Wei, Izza, Wei Shen, Kek, CLian, Liz and ST. Thanks to those who sent me a message before my birthday, on my birthday and after my birthday – SiewFong, Hui Yong, Yip, Khon, SWuay, Lena, CChuan, Eunice and Kooi Seow.

CNY gathering - Secondary schoolmates

Seven girls (included chinx2's sister although she is not in the photos) turned up a gathering at Queesbay Mall. Before gathering, CChing, Joox2 and I gathered at Chinx2's house to collect ang pao from her mother. =P After that, we met up Shih Shiew and E4 at QB for lunch. Last year we had our lunch at Sushi King. Guess where we had our lunch this year? McD nia la...-_-''

I took a flight back to Sg after gathering. The next morning, I collected 3 ang paos from my house owner, my company and my boss... ^_^

CNY gathering - Ex colleagues

I went for a gathering with my ex-colleagues at Pastamania, Gurney Plaza. There has plenty kind of pizzas and pasta, and I made a choice on 7 inches Four Season Pizza. WHan ordered a plate of pasta. Looks delicious. I was not able to take picture of Tiramisu which ordered by Sim and TS becuase they have nearly finished it when I reached our table.-_-''' Anyway the tiramisu really tastes good.



In my mind, I always remember that there is a sweet story about Tiramisu, but I never try to find the story out. Since today I have tasted the soft and sweet tiramisu with my friends, of course curious and want to know more about this.

Story of Tiramisu:

There is some debate regarding the history of tiramisu. Some believe it was actually first created during the First World War. Women in northern Italy made these desserts for the men to take with them as they were being sent off to war. Presumably to remind them of their love together; as the bitter-sweet taste of the dessert alludes to the perplexing feeling of love itself. Or more practically, they might have believed the high caffeine and energy content of these desserts will give their men more energy to fight and help bring them home safely.

Yet another story regarding tiramisu dates back even further. It is said that during the Renaissance periods, Venetian women made these to be shared with their men during the late hours because they believed it would give them the energy to make more vigorous love later.

Whatever the case may be with this romantic “pick me up” dessert, its ties to love are definitely unmistakable upon your first bite.

After chit-chat, we headed for a movie "Kung Fu Dunk". Honestly, I never have great impression towards Jay Chou before watch this movie. He is famous in singing, but not an actor in previous movies. Amazingly, I like this movie. He still acts with 'gong gong' face, but cute. :">

A hectic weekend

Purposely took a leave and went back hometown to settle my car. It was hectic weekend for me. After settled name transferation of my car, I had lunch with my ex-colleagues at "Shanghai Ding House of Dumpling". The small bao is really delicious! The soup inside it is tastes good. Thanks Joseph for recommended such saliva-dripping dishes.

At night, went out with Joo, E4 and CC. All of us sat down on sofa in G-Hotel and girl-talk till 1130pm. What an enjoyable night! :"> Snapped few photos before left from hotel.

Saturday morning, Liew fetched me from my house and then we headed to Sg Pinang Road. I ordered "Chicken drumstick Mee Sua" and she order fried mee hun with fried fish meat and fried prawn. I bought a photo frame for Liew as her wedding present because I couldn't attend her wedding ceremony.

Chinx2 came back for Deepavali holiday. Therefore we had a gathering at Babylon since Joo never attend with us before. The environment just nice for chatting like what I said in the previous blog. Again, met up Chinx2, Joo, E4 and CC for dinner. This time we choose to have our dinner in German Restaurant. E4, CC and I ordered pork chop. The meat was too big for me and it’s hard to eat. I even can’t finish half.

We had a walk in GHotel since everyone felt bloated.

Movie, 11 Nov

Watched 'Stardust' with Chinx2, CC and E4. I didn't watch movie for quite some times. Never think that this will be the movie I watched before I leave from Malaysia. This movies is great and funny. I know E4 love it very much until praised it non-stop since she came out of cinema...

Farewell @ Water World Seafood Restaurant, 6 Nov

My gang organized a seafood farewell for me in Teluk Bahang. Far right? But it’s worthy. The food is fairly delicious. The most important is I really enjoyed the moment with them. This would be the last gathering with them before I fly out of Malaysia. Thanks for all. Thanks for prepared crab in the dinner list. I love crab very much especially I got a moderate sized pincer that night. Wow~ Wow~ :D
